I absolutely loved it because it's my kind of humour with chaotic mayhem. Rather than taking on the three gangs individually as in the past two games, though, all three of Steelport’s gangs are united into one organization, The Syndicate. Ultimately the plane mission and the dubstep gun are stuck in my memory, although it has been nine years since I played it.After being arrested, taken aboard an aeroplane, shooting their way out of that plane, shooting their way back into that plane, and then jumping out again, The Boss and Shaundi find themselves trapped in the city of Steelport, once again starting from scratch in a city controlled by three rival gangs: the high-class and high-powered Morningstar, muscle-bound wrestling-themed Luchadores, and the tech-savvy hackers, the Deckers. From that point on, I started liking the humour of the game and witnessed slowly descending into madness (in a good way). Saint's Row 3 starts a bit more "realistic", but as soon as you get to the rooftop shooting with the iconic soundtrack, (one of the most memorable gaming moments ever for me), it was finally clear to me that it is much more than a GTA clone. But when The Boss, Shaundi, and Johnny Gat come up against some unexpected resistance during a routine bank robbery, they find out that there’s always a bigger fish. In the criminal world of Stilwater, the Saints are at the top of the food chain. After putting down all the rival gangs in Stilwater, the Saints have become pop culture icons, licensing their brand and making bank from merchandising and product endorsements. The story picks up a few years after the events of SR2, and the Third Street Saints have come a long way from their humble origins. Saints Row: The Third, which launched in 2011, follows much the same formula, but with some important changes.
Now known as “The Boss,” you have to lead the Saints back to dominance. The sequel replicated that formula, with your character waking up from a coma to find the Saints had fallen from power, and three new gangs had divided up the city. The first game in the series saw the Saints starting off as a small-time gang, with your character, known as the “Playa,” fighting your way up the ranks and taking down three rival gangs to eventually take control of Stilwater. Saints Row 2 released two years later for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to even greater commercial and critical success. Saints Row was one of the first non-linear sandbox games for the 360, filling a GTA-shaped void for Xbox gamers at the start of the 7th console generation and selling more than 500,000 units during its first month. Developed by Volition and published by THQ, the original Saints Row (2006) was released in 2006.
Saint’s Row: The Third, like its predecessors, is classified as an open-world third-person shooter, in a similar vein to Grand Theft Auto and other similar titles.
